WiFi-Tutors endeavours to channel children’s energy by turning an everyday infotainment item like the personal computer into a safe, instructive and creative learning tool.

That modern classrooms are run as controlled environments is an understatement. At WiFi-Tutors, every student is encouraged to free themselves of traditional educational constraints by asking as many constructive questions as they like.
All you need is a web-connected computer, (either Dial Up or Broadband, Cable or DSL) and a headset, and you are ready to go. Nowadays, most computers come as both with built-in audio and webcam enabled, thus negating the need for extra hardware. Nor is there a need for expensive software or slow downloads.
Our programme is run without the conventional limitations of a normal classroom, where inhibitions loom large. Students are actively encouraged to build on their critical literacy skills and to be more experimental. During live, one-to-one tutorials, students have the option to engage in web-chat, and use the web-chat with audio. Though we strongly discourage usage of the video-cam facility during sessions, this option is available to all students by prior arrangement.
Our bespoke virtual whiteboard technology can be used both by the tutor and student to jot down questions and answers; share problems; upload presentations and videos; map charts and pictograms; and work with simulations and animations to optimise the learning experience.
Students are invited to connect to a tutor as often as the learning need arises. Unlimited tutoring packages are available in a host of subject areas. While in many respects, our sessions are just like working face to face with a tutor, we’re sure that you’ll find them more convenient and fun.

Q) How does your online tutoring work?
WiFiTutors online tutoring is a real-time and interactive way of teaching through the internet. We use an interactive whiteboard with audio and/or video. Both students and tutors are able to draw diagrams or pictures and share files.
Q) How do you ensure quality?
We employ great tutors who are experts in their subjects. Our tutors undergo strict selection and training processes before they get to teach for us.
Q) How many hours of tutoring are recommended per month?
This varies according to the individual development needs of the child. In general, 2/2.5 hours’ of one-to-one tutoring is appropriate. However, this could be increased if, for example, the child is soon to take an important exam.
Q) Do my costs change if my tutor is based in certain countries?
Yes. We’re open and transparent about this. Although our Indian tutors are every bit as well educated, professional and knowledgeable as their western colleagues, we pay our tutors a different rate according to their country of origin, reflecting varying costs of living and rates of pay across the world. Therefore, we are obliged to charge higher rates if your tutor is from the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Q) For what grades is tutoring available?
While tuition for curriculum-based subjects is generally given to schoolchildren from grades 1 to 12 (Primary to A-Levels/Sr. Board/Hr. Secondary), languages and other subjects can be made available to students of other ages.
Q) Is audio or video available for all packages?
Real time live audio applies to all of our packages. Video is also available as an optional extra.
Q) What do I need to get the tutoring session started?
All you need is a web-connected working computer with a working head-set. Your internet connection can be dial-up, DSL, or Cable.
Q) At what time will my tutor be available?
Tutors are available 24/7. Students and parents have the freedom to schedule lessons according to their diaries. We may, however, need to make adjustments if you select the ‘same tutor’ option every time.
Q) Are your tutors familiar with international curricula?
Tutors are primarily selected on the basis of their subject knowledge, but also undergo intensive training in international curricula. They are also trained to adopt neutral accents, so that they can be immediately intelligible to our student base.
Q) Will you give me the same tutor every time?
This is available to students who subscribe to same tutor option, which is available free of charge, but which may mean that the student will have to be more flexible in terms of their schedule. We allocate available subject teachers to all other students on a first come, first served basis.
Q) How secure is your data?
We subscribe to the relevant data protection regulations applicable in every country in which we teach. Student details are not disclosed to any third party, even for reference purposes, unless legally warranted, and/or asked for by the student and/or their parent(s).
Q) What is expected from me as a parent?
To provide a distraction-free environment and ongoing encouragement.
Q) How is the progress of my child measured?
A test-based initial assessment is conducted and an individual development plan is created based on this assessment, input from parents, students, and, if desired, the school teacher. Each session is recorded and evaluated to measure progress. Periodic assessments and mock tests measure overall progress.
Q) How else can parents get involved?
By monitoring progress through silent observation in the tutorial, or through intervention as and when requested by the tutor.
Q) Can I reschedule a class?
Yes, you can. Our programme is designed in such a way that you can reschedule sessions with just 24 hours’ prior notice.
Q) Can I swap subjects?
Yes you can. Our programme is designed in such a way that you can swap subjects with just 24 hours’ prior notice.
Q) Am I tied in for long-term contracts?
No. No, our minimum term is 10 sessions or one month, whichever happens soonest.
Q) As you offer tuition in different subjects, can I choose multiple subjects in the same package?
Yes. You can choose single or multiple subjects at any time during your package. You are permitted to switch from one subject to another with just 24 hours’ prior notice, provided the chosen subjects are within the same price band and subject to tutor availability.

Q) For how long will these packages remain valid?
Some of our packages have a validity of 30 days, while some have 60 days and some 90 days. Should you be under any doubt, please contact us at support@wifitutors.com.
Q) What is your rate guarantee?
If you choose this option, any future upward price revision will not apply to you for a maximum period of 12 months. In order to avail of this guarantee, you should set up a standing order in our favour for 12 consecutive months. We will automatically renew your package at the current rate for the next 12 months. If you’re on a package which lasts less than 30 days, you must renew your package continuously to be eligible for this guarantee.
